The Send Data button sends the Results for the selected Takeoff Item to the last location you clicked before clicking the button. It works similar to a “Copy/Paste” shortcut.
To Send Data,
- Establish the destination - where do you want the data sent?
- Select a cell in a spreadsheet or a location in a text document where you want the data inserted
- Click on the takeoff object or Takeoff Item whose results you want to send
- Click the Send Data button (the entire button opens a drop-down, it is not a split button)
- Select which result you want pushed to the destination
For example, let’s say we had last clicked in an Excel spreadsheet. We could quickly insert one of the Results from the currently selected Takeoff Item (in Pages, Bookmarks list) or a selected takeoff object by clicking this button and the desired Result from the drop-down.
