You can use Job Statuses to "lock" Bids - making them "read only" for all users.
In the screen shot below, "Template" is set to "Lock Bid" so any Bid set to the Job Status "Template" would be read-only.
Note
If you can't edit a Bid, this is the first thing you should check).To set a Job Status as locked,
Open the Job Statuses list (Master > Job Statuses).
Check the "Lock Bid" checkbox for the Job Status to set as 'locked'.
Caution
This affects all Bids in the database set to this Job Status.
To unlock a Bid, just change its Job Status to an unlocked one or remove the checkmark for the Locked Job Status.
