A Bid (also called a Project, Estimate, Job, or Tender) is the estimated total cost of materials and labor, equipment, subs, and other expenses, including Markups, Indirect Expenses, Overhead, and Profit, for a given building project.
In Quick Bid, a Bid includes the original "Base Bid" and all Alternates and Change Orders, also known as "Child Bids". We cover Alternates and Change orders later in this Chapter.
Quick Bid provides an efficient, accurate, and user-friendly way to perform what was once a tedious and time consuming process.
There are numerous ways to create a Bid in Quick Bid, each covered in the articles that follow:
- Creating a new Bid (from scratch)
- Copying a Bid (from one database to another)
- Duplicating Bids
- Creating an interactive Bid from On-Screen Takeoff
- Importing a Bid Package
- Importing an On-Screen Takeoff "OST Takeoff" file (*.ost)
Note
There are several important fields on the Cover Sheet that affect how a Bid is calculated. Please review the articles that follow carefully, to avoid making any mistakes that could cause you to generate an inaccurate estimate.![]() | Creating a Quick Bid ![]() |
