In construction terms a Punch List is a "To Do List" - a list of work items that need to be completed or corrected before a project is considered 'complete' and ready to turn over to the customer. Our friends in the U.K. and Ireland use the term snag or snagging list ("We've hit a snag...").
A Punch List is made up of Punch Items - these items are identified during walkthroughs and then assigned to the appropriate subcontractors to fix or resolve. ConstructConnect Takeoff allows you to attach notes and photos to a Punch Item so you and your team understand the nature of the issues and what is being done to resolve them.
The phrase "Punch List" takes its name from the historical process of punching a hole in the margin of the document next to one of the items on the list. This indicated that the work was completed for that particular construction task. Two copies of the list were punched at the same time to provide an identical record for the architect and builder/contractor.
Creating a Punch Item is done using the Punch Item tool on the Annotations Toolbar.
Managing your Punch List is done in the Punch List Pane. By default the Punch List Pane is docked in the right dockbar which is slid-in (hidden) by default. Click on "Punch List" to open the pane.
