You can resize linear and area takeoff objects after drawing or pasting them so they match your Plans precisely. Many times you may have have to resize objects after you takeoff a rough estimate or when you copy and paste takeoff from one Page to another. Sometimes it makes sense to adjust an existing piece of takeoff other times it makes more sense to start from scratch with a new takeoff object - it is really up to you to determine which is appropriate for the situation.

We cover resizing Linear and Area takeoff in the next two articles. You cannot resize Count or Attachment objects - you must edit the Takeoff Item Properties to affect Count and Attachment takeoff. However if you have used an Attachment you may not be able to change its Properties if the new Properties would cause it to no longer fit on a parent takeoff object (anywhere in the Bid). For example if you have placed a door that is 24" wide on a wall that is 30" wide you will not be able to change the Attachment's width to say 36" because it would cause the Attachment to no longer fit where it was already placed (on wall that is only 30" wide).

Remember you can adjust how big or small a Count object shows on the Plans by changing its "Visible" width and depth settings in Takeoff Item Properties. Attachments must be displayed at actually size because they affect the quantities of the Parent objects to which they are attached.

Resizing most Annotations (such as Dimension Lines Arrows Highlighting etc.) is done the same way as resizing linear and area takeoff objects. You can also adjust the line width of Line Arrows etc. before they are drawn you cannot change the line width on existing objects though.
