or

What versions of On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Quick Bid, and Digital Production Control are supported on Windows 10, 11, or even Windows 365?

Discussion

Over the years, both ConstructConnect and Microsoft have developed and released new versions of their software. The grid below indicates which versions of ConstructConnect Takeoff, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, and Quick Bid are compatible with various versions of Windows. For our Sunsetting policy, see ConstructConnect Desktop Product Lifecycle (Sunsetting/End-of-Life Guidelines).

ConstructConnect supports our desktop software installed and operated only on versions of Windows currently under "Mainstream Support" with Microsoft.

When a version of Windows no longer supported, Microsoft, desktop products limited to those Windows versions will no longer be distributed or supported.

If your version of ConstructConnect Takeoff, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or Quick Bid is no longer supported or is limited to a Windows operating system version that is no longer supported by Microsoft, please contact Customer Success at 866-627-6246 to discuss your options.

Windows 365 Cloud-based OS
Windows 365 is a cloud-based virtual desktop that can run a number of versions of Windows, including Windows 10 and 11, which are technically supported.

That being said...we have not performed certification testing for Windows 365, so test before committing to anything.

  • Our products are designed for and tested on US-English versions of Windows®. There may be minor display issues when installed on other regional versions of Windows.
  • Our products are designed for and tested on Professional and Enterprise editions of Windows®. We do not test on “Home” editions or other non-business-level editions of Windows and cannot guarantee that you will be able to install or run our products on any editions of Windows other than Professional and Enterprise.
  • "Server" operating systems should not be used as a Desktop operating system - they are not designed for this function. The applications are not tested nor certified when using any Windows "Server" version as a desktop, personal computing operating system. Server versions are listed here for clients using Remote Desktop Services to 'publish' the products through virtual desktops. Server operating systems may display some parts of a program's interface a little differently (menus, toolbars, etc.) which does not affect the overall usability or functionality of the program. (ConstructConnect Takeoff is not compatible with running in a distributed environment.)

Warning

If you are planning on upgrading your operating system (say, from Windows 10 to Windows 11):

  1. You must return all product licenses
  2. Uninstall your ConstructConnect product(s) before installing the OS upgrade
  3. After you have completed the OS upgrade, run Windows Update several times to ensure your Windows OS is fully updated
  4. Then reinstall your software
  5. Then reactive your license(s)
