You can start using On-Screen Takeoff "out of the box" to create highly accurate takeoff estimates. However, setting up your program and database options is important if you want to make On-Screen Takeoff yours because they affect how you work with the program.

Options include where you store your data files (by default), how various tools work, how the program sets up up bid options for new projects, and many other details.
