Performing or digitizing a takeoff inside of PlanSwift Professional is easy. PlanSwift has four basic measuring (or takeoff) tools, which are identified as takeoff items or types: Area, Linear, Segment, and Count (PlanSwift also has specialty takeoff items detailed Related Articles).
Newly created takeoff items can be used for performing your takeoffs on the fly; takeoff items can also be modified and saved as templates for future use in digitizing your takeoffs.
