Quick Bid - 01.09 Application Toolbars

There are two toolbars in Quick Bid:

  • The Main toolbar - contains program functions
  • The Bids toolbar - contains functions related to bidding

Many Toolbar functions are repeated on the File, Edit, View, Tools, and Bid menus - each discussed in the articles that follow.

Main Toolbar

Quick Bid Main Toolbar holds buttons to create new objects, open databases, print, and basic editing

Button Function What it does/How it is used... Keystroke (Shortcut)
the multi-function button looks like a piece of paper with a dollar sign on it New Creates a new Bid, Condition, markup, etc depending on current focus <Ctrl> + <N>
The open databases button is an open manila folder Open Accesses the Open Databases dialog to manage databases <Ctrl> + <O>
the print button looks like a printer Print Prints whatever currently has focus  
the print preview button looks like a sheet of paper behind a magnifying glass Print Preview Previews a print of whatever has focus  
the cut button looks like scissors Cut Removes selection to the clipboard <Ctrl> + <X>
the copy button looks like two sheets of paper, one on top of the other Copy Copies selection to the clipboard <Ctrl> + <C>
the paste button looks like a sheet of paper in front of a clipboard Paste Pastes previously cut/copied selection from the clipboard to the current focus <Ctrl> + <V>
the duplicate button looks like two sheets of paper labeled one and two Duplicate Duplicates the currently selected item, Bid, condition, etc. <Ctrl> + <D>
the delete button is a red x Delete Deletes whatever currently has focus <Delete>

 

Bid Tool Bar

the Quick Bid Bid Toolbar holds buttons for various bid-related activites

Button Function
Select Sections button looks like a white page with scribbles on it and a blue title bar Opens a dialog where the estimator can specify the Active Sections for a Bid (see Selecting "Active" Bid Sections)
the cover sheet button is a yellow notebook Opens the Cover Sheet for the selected Bid (see Filling Out the Cover Sheet)
the Send button's icon is an envelope with a green arrow, it activates a drop down Allows the estimator to send a Bid package of the selected Bid to file or via e-mail (see Exporting, Sending, and Importing Bid Packages)
The reports button looks like several sheets of printouts stacked on each other Opens the Bid Reports dialog (see Reports - Overview)
the Proposals button is a white sheet with a blue W on it Opens the Generate Proposals dialog (see Proposals and Quotations)
the Exports button looks like two spreadsheets connected by a green arrow Opens the Bid Exports dialog (see Bid, Labor, Material, and Accounting Exports

 

Hover the mouse pointer over any Toolbar button to see a tool tip identifying the function.
