Job Statuses help you keep track of the progress of the jobs in your database. The Job Status master table stores the Job Statuses available in the current database. Job Status is assigned to a Bid on the Cover Sheet and can be used to indicate the phase or stage of a project. We recommend setting up a 'locked' Job Status for archived Bids (discussed in Related articles).
- Click Master > Job Statuses
- Set the "Sold" status to Lock Bid - all Bids set to this Job Status are now Read Only.
When using Digital Production Control, it is recommended that the "Sold" Job Status be set to "Locked". This way, Projects that are "Sold" cannot be changed accidentally (when preparing a Project for DPC (next Chapter) the archive copy is set to "Sold" or some other "Locked" status). Editing Job Statuses affects every Project in the database. If you have other Projects set to "SOLD", they will become Read Only as well. You can always create a status named "SOLD-DPC" to separate these.
There is more information on adding, modifying, and deleted Job Statuses in the On-Screen Takeoff User Guide.
