While the Cover Sheet is still open (from assigning roles in the previous article) and before sending this Project to the field, there are three options that you must set:

  • Hours/Day (affects how the Timecard Tab works)
  • Start Week on (determines the first day of the week on the Timecard Tab)
  • Ignore Bid Areas on Timecard Entries (this is not recommended - if the project uses Bid Areas for takeoffs, time must be assigned to the correct Bid Area or the Budget Tab cannot calculate projections for individual Bid Areas. If you choose to "Ignore Bid Areas..." you will not be able to "Break on Areas" when viewing the Budget Tab.

These settings default to the New Project settings under Tools > Options but may be changed at the Project level before it is set to the field.

You must set three Digital Production Control on the Cover Sheet before sending a job to the field

Once this Project is sent to the field as a DPC Bid Package, or there is any "percenting" done on any Plan, or any time applied to any Timecard, the three options on the right are locked and can no longer be changed, even if the Project is unlocked.
