PlanSwift - Item Properties/Update Cost Plugin

Overview

The Item Properties/Update Cost Plugin allows you to update the cost of an item, where it is used in a project, based on that Item's number.

This Plugin adds a button to the Templates Tab ribbon bar.

First, you'll need to download and install your Starter Pack, see How to Download and Install a PlanSwift Plugin or Starter Pack

Once your new Starter Pack is installed, review: Licensing PlanSwift (Activation).

You can request a 14-day trial of any Plugin or Starter Park.

Your items must use Item #'s for this the Item Properties/Update Cost Plugin to work. It searches the open project's items for a matching Item # and updates the price accordingly. Item # is entered in the Advanced view of the Item Properties window.

All future projects using this template use the updated pricing.

Using the Update Pricing Plugin

  • Start by opening a project that has already been estimated. (Reminder: your items must include Item #s)
  • Click on the Templates Tab
  • Locate and select the Template whose pricing (Unit Cost) you want to update (1).
  • Update it's pricing however you choose (for demonstration purposes, we changed the Price Each to "5000.00" so you can see the change easily).

With that template selected,

  • Click the Updates Costs button (2) in the Templates Tab ribbon bar

If there are matching Items in the project, PlanSwift locates then and tells you how many it found (3).

  • Click the Yes button if you want to proceed with the changes
  • Click back on the Estimating Tab and locate that Item

Notice, its pricing has been updated. Changes to the Item's Pricing only affects the current open Job (and all future Jobs).
