Abstract

This article explains changes to your On-Screen Takeoff subscription and how you will sign into the application/activate your license going forward.

What's Changing

Beginning in June 2026, On-Screen Takeoff subscription customers will move to named-login authentication. This change affects how you sign in; it does not change your subscription tier, pricing, or require you to repurchase anything. The transition is expected to take place with On-Screen Takeoff version 4.0.0.805.

Why This Change Is Happening

Old legacy authentication using keys is retiring. Moving to named-login authentication gives each user a unique identity and provides a more secure, consistent way to manage access to On-Screen Takeoff. It also makes it easier for organizations to manage users and helps us deliver a more modern, reliable sign-in experience.

What Happens to Your Access

If your subscription is active at the time of migration:

Your subscription itself doesn't change: you keep ongoing access to On-Screen Takeoff, including all future updates and support, for as long as your subscription is active. On-Screen Takeoff stays a desktop application, installed and used the same as before, with the same system requirements.

If your subscription lapses

On-Screen Takeoff remains accessible in PlanViewer mode. You have access to your local projects, quick takeoff tools and annotation tools are available but cannot be saved to a project. Takeoff BOOST features and Cloud Sync are no longer available.

Your Subscription Tiers

Your subscription tier determines which features are active:

Tier What's included

OST Essential

Core desktop takeoff, reports, export, print. GCIP login. Auto Link, Auto Count, Auto Takeoff (5 projects), and Project Cloud Sync.

OST Core

Everything in Essential, plus unlimited Auto Takeoff.

OST Plus

OST Essential bundled with Quick Bid and DPC (Digital Production Control).

OST Professional

OST Core bundled with Quick Bid and DPC (Digital Production Control).

Subscription Agreements

Can I cancel or change my subscription?
You can cancel at any time. Canceling means you'll lose access to subscription versions of On-Screen Takeoff at the end of your current period, along with priority support, volume discounts, and discounted renewal pricing.

What if I want to resubscribe later?
You'll pay the full list rate; discounted renewal pricing doesn't carry over once a subscription has lapsed.

What's Next for Quick Bid?

Quick Bid is planned to follow On-Screen Takeoff's new sign-in process, probably toward the middle or end of September 2026.
