Supported File Types
- .TIF
- .PDF (Adobe)
- .DXF
- .DWG (AutoCAD)
- .PLN (Dodge plan files)
- .JPG
PlanSwift supports .DWF file format; however, because this format is used in so many different ways, PlanSwift may have trouble importing the plans.
TIF is the preferred image file format for use within PlanSwift, however, if you are using Takeoff Boost’s AI-powered tools, do not convert your PDFs to TIFs. See Takeoff Boost™ - A Suite of AI-Powered Automation Takeoff Tools for more information.
Only PDF and TIF files can use PlanSwift’s built-in Scales, all other file types must be manually calculated, see Related Articles for more information.
Unsupported File Types
All other image files must be converted (preferably to TIF) before loading them into PlanSwift, including:
- .CPC
- .DJVU
- .DGN
- .DWFX
- .BMP
This is not a comprehensive list of “unsupported” file types. If they don’t show up in the New Job Import Plans dialog box, they aren’t supported.
