When generating a Proposal from Quick Bid, Microsoft Word displays template field names instead of bid data.
Discussion
Microsoft’s June 2026 Security Update KB5094126 introduced changes to COM behavior that affect how Quick Bid (and some other applications) integrate with Microsoft Word.

Resolution
At this time, Microsoft has not committed to issuing a hot fix for this or changing the way COM works. A permanent solution requires engineering changes to Quick Bid and is being prioritized as of the writing of this article (work item TE-8330).
We cannot advise you to uninstall or block Windows Updates. We can confirm that removing KB5094126 restores Quick Bid's ability to populate Microsoft Word templates. Consult your IT and Information Security teams to determine the most appropriate approach for your organization.
