There are three Markups Tools available in PlanSwift: Arrows, Boxes (previous article), and Pen (line).
Drawing Pen (Line) Markups
Access these tools on the Home Tab.
- Set color before selecting a Markups tool by clicking the "Markup Color" button - all markups drawn use the selected color
- Click on the “Markups” drop-down
You can always change the color after drawing a markup. Just select the markup and edit its properties.
- Select Pen Markup from the Markups drop-down
The cursor changes to indicate which tool you're using, and the Digitizer Record button turns red.
There are two ways you can use the Pen Markups tool:
- The default mode is the "Segment" mode which allows you to draw straight lines (single or multi-segment)
- The "Freehand" mode allows you to draw any shape you like - circles for example
Default (Segments)
With the Pen Tool selected,
(The screenshots below show “Arrow”, but the instructions are the same.)
- Click the first point and double-click the final, or
- Click-Drag-Release
- You can draw a curved segment by pressing the "A" button on your keyboard, the following two points define the size of the arc.
Freehand
With the Pen Tool selected,
- Click on “Freehand” at the bottom of the PlanSwift window
- Click and Hold the mouse button down until the cursor changes to “Freehand”
- Draw your Pen Markup however you like
- Release the mouse button when complete
See Related Articles for details on using “Freehand”.
The Pen Tool remains active until you click the Digitizer Record button to stop or press ESC twice on your keyboard.
