The Scale Toolbar is where you set the scale of every Page. You can select from a list of pre-defined scales or calculate the scale of the Page using a known-length object on the Plan.

It is critical that you set or calculate each Page's scale and then verify that scale before drawing any takeoff. If the scale is not set correctly the program calculates incorrect takeoff results sometimes drastically so.

Do not draw takeoff and then try to set or change the scale because some takeoff objects cannot be re-scaled and you must delete them and start over.

Calculate Scale The program can calculate the Scale of a Page as long as you can find a line on the Plan that is labeled with its length.

You must set and verify Scale on every Page before drawing takeoff. Even though you can select "Apply to all Pages" when Setting or Calculating Scale you must verify the Scale on each Page to make sure it is accurate.

Never trust the scale on a drawing without verifying it! It may not be possible to rescale the Page after you draw takeoff.

It only takes a second or two to verify the scale on a Page do not make the mistake of skipping this vital step only to end up with incorrect takeoff totals.
